Every 20 seconds, one person develops stroke in Africa. Every year, millions across Africa and the Caribbean suffer a stroke—too many do not survive, and survivors are often left without the care they need. We believe this can change.
Ubuntu Stroke360 is an African-led, UK-based initiative dedicated to revolutionizing stroke care in Africa and the Caribbean. Founded by Dr. Paul Bolaji, an award-winning Consultant Stroke Physician and Health Care Leader, and Mrs. Kafilat Giwa, a Specialist Neuro-Interventionist Radiographer and Public Health Advocate, we bring decades of experience in clinical care, training, and healthcare leadership.
Ubuntu means “I am because you are.” This African principle of shared humanity is at the heart of our work: stroke care is not just about medicine—it is about community, dignity, and hope.
